IsoMov-CG: A New Effective Therapy Programme Utilizing Isometric and Movement Exercises for Children with ADHD

ABSTRACT

The article presents the results of a study conducted with early school children from Cracow who exhibited symptoms of ADHD. The experiment utilized a therapy programme by Celestyna Grzywniak which aimed at teaching the children to control their bodies, enhancing their concentration, reducing impulsiveness and encouraging them to follow the rules of a group.

The experiment lasted 9 months, the children attended classes twice a week. The programme utilized isometric and movement-based exercises, interviews with the children and their parents and learning to follow group rules. The article also presents ADHD in the classification of mental and behaviour disorders according to ICD-10.
